I love yoga, not for the purposes of inner enlightenment but as a means of exercise and to stay limber. About 10 years ago I was in a yoga class that was almost all middle aged women. To be polite I always positioned myself in the front row of the participants because I did not want to be in the back row looking at everyone's 'back sides' and regarded critically. The following experience was one that I never realized would ever be a life's changing one for me.
After class, two of the middle aged women approached me and one said that, "Bee has something to ask you". I asked Bee what was up. Bee wondered if I would be willing to pose at a wine and art venue for a Bachelorette gathering. I was taken temporarily speechless but recovered and asked, 'why would you think I would even remotely believe I would be willing to do this'. Bee said that because I was always in the front of the class and thought I, "liked being looked at". I further questioned Bee and she admitted she was responsible for planning this bachlorette party and discovered that male pose models charge a lot of money and the venue that they were planning at a wine/art venue allowed patrons to supply their own model. I further questioned her why a 50 year old guy was suitable and she cited that the bachelorette party was composed of 40 to 70 year old women and she could not afford to pay a "bunch of money". Long story short I agreed to do this for her.
The evening came and I showed up. The venue owner sympathized with me when said I was, 'on the edge of my comfort zone' and asked for advice. She suggested an "imposed nude pose session" which involved a reclined 'draped' pose. She also said she would be leading the wine and art class and said she would moderate the group. About 30 minutes into the pose session, the wine was taking its effects on the group. Everyone was having a good time. A number of women wanted to know when the drape was to be removed. The venue owner diplomatically said that, 'it was possible that a full nude pose may not be 'well received' by all of the participants' and asked for a vote to validate her assumption. ALL of the participants wanted a nude pose. OMG - butterflies when the venue owner asked if I was ok with this .... I said yes. I removed the drape and posed nude. The participants were asked to draw for 3 minutes - stop - and pass their drawing to the next participant and so on for about 20 minutes. This really caused unbelievable laughter. After 20 minutes almost everyone had been drawing my penis. The evening ended and it really did go well. The venue owner said I was, "pleasantly immodest and a good sport" and enjoyed working with me and wondered if I would be willing to maybe pose again in the future for her business - we exchanged numbers.
Post script - this was the start of my 'artistic pose modeling'. I have never advertised and have just word of mouth requests maybe twice a month. I have posed for private individuals, business wine/art venues, college art classes, commercial artists/photographers, Senior living art classes, artist retreats and enclaves. In the last 15 years I have had all kinds of experiences which I am willing to write about on the Solo Touch Forum in the future if there is interest.
