I used to live near the North Yorkshire Moors in the UK, and on summer evenings I would ride after I had finished work. By 8:00 in the evening all the ramblers and dog walkers had gone home and it felt like I had the hills to myself. I'd usually park the car in the little village at the bottom of the hill, put on my helmet and start my ride.
