Perhaps you have seen an increase in online posts at various sites about "masturbation addiction" or more commonly "porn addiction". There are many electrons expended toward defining those terms, and a promulgating opinions and "solutions" to these "problems". One constant appears to be that among men and women in relationships, men typically continue to enjoy porn and masturbation, while the female, with a few exceptions, takes great offense at her man's interest in masturbating, and especially looking at porn. As a response, very few men will actually discontinue enjoying porn and masturbation, they just work harder to conceal it from their female partner. I will be among the first to admit that concealing important aspects of one's life is not optimal in any relationship. I will also be among the first to express frustration with this aspect of female personal insecurity---"Hey girlfriends/wives--we love having sex with you, we love you, and you turn us on...but we also like looking at porn and jerking off. Masturbated on an empty commuter train coach while at high speed (before widespread use of CCTV) Purchased preloaded credit cards to hide online porn site purchases from my wife Taken sick days off work, without telling wife, spending that day at a hotel edging for hours I don't take pride in any of these activities, and wish I didn't have to engage in them. I would prefer that my wife could accept this aspect of my sexuality. Many soul-baring and tear filled talks have led me to believe that is not possible, so concealing my masturbatory life is the only way forward. I don't buy into the whole "addiction" thing.
