Advice on a hookup/FWB?
So I was recently invited to a family vacation with my friend. There’s always been sexual tension between us, although it’s never really been addressed and I’m not sure if it’s there now. However, I really would like to hookup with her when we go, and maybe become fuck buddies, but I don’t want to risk our friendship because I don’t want a relationship. I just want to have some fun sex with my friend, especially with the thought of us being on vacation together for a week. I’m essentially wondering if I should just say “fuck it!” and ask her, possibly risking awkwardness and a friendship, or should I just keep the fantasy in my head?

Had a friend with benefits before I met my wife and it turned out fine.
We had known each other since we were 13. As a young adult she had a few bad experiences with boyfriends and was taking a break right about the time I decided to take a chance and ask her out. There had always been "something" between us and we even kissed a couple of times but it never went any further. Anyways, she told me that she just wanted to take a timeout with relationships but wouldnt mind someone to fool around with.
So fuck buddies we were. No hang ups, no awkwardness. When I met my wife I told my fuck buddy about her and we agreed it was time to call it off but not before one more wild night in the sack.
In the spirit of transparency I told my soon to be wife about my friend/fuck buddy. It took her awhile to wrap her brain around it but she eventually grasped it.
