Don't Freak Out

By the time this is published I will most likely know the results of my biopsy. It is my hope to allay any concerns any reader here might have about this procedure if they are facing it. There is also an impact on masturbating. This is more about general male health.

The procedure sounds disturbing. The fear of the unknown was worse than the procedure itself. If it were as painful as you might think it is, it could not be easily performed and it is easily performed every day. Plus, after the procedure you walk out on your own locomotion and can drive yourself home.  

You take some antibiotics and give yourself an enema the day of. At the doctor's you are given a shot in the ass, more antibiotics. 30 minutes later you are in the exam room and strip from the waist down and lay on the table. The doc comes in and explains the procedure by now you've heard this like 15 times and have been thinking about little else. Roll over on to your side knees to chest. A quick manual exam. Then the ultrasound probe is inserted. If you've played with your ass with your thumb or dildo or something similar, this will be a familiar feeling but not pleasant; mildly uncomfortable as your body adjusts. Then, there are two slight stings as you are given lidocaine injections to numb your prostate.

There are 12 shots taking tissue samples. The first one hurt and I groaned probably because the doc did not wait long enough for the lidocaine to take effect. He gave me two more lidocaine injections and these helped. I was able to engage in small talk while the 11 shots were administered. They were far less ouchie. One more quick manual exam, and you're good to go.

You are alerted there may be blood in your urine, stool and ejaculate. Lay off any lifting for 1-2 days. There is more but I will skip that.

So, I had little after effects other than some general soreness, like having been on a long bike ride after not having ridden a bike in awhile. I had no blood in my urine or stool. After 3 days I think I'm good to go and I start to jack off. It feels normal. I thought about there being blood when I cum, but when it actually happened it shocked me and scared me. There was no pain, the orgasm left fine. But seeing blood in your cum set me back. I'm told it would be like that for 4-6 weeks.

So there you have it. Do not put off seeing a urologist for regular check ups, etc., early detection is KEY. The procedure itself, was like 10 minutes beginning to end. The worst part is thinking about it. I wish you good health and good luck and good orgasms.
