Age of Consent

The laws regarding Age of Consent vary from state to state. Age of Consent is the age that a person of either gender can consent to engage in sexual intercourse. There are several websites that provide this information in detail, even including the potential punishment for breaking the laws. Some of the punishment is quite severe. 

Most people assume that 18 is the most common age of consent. But in truth, more states have it at 16 than those at 18 with a few others at 17.  Thirty of the 51 states have the age of consent at 16. Most of the states have what is called a “close in age” exemption. Also called the “Romeo and Juliet” law. Most of the close in age laws provide for legal sex as long as the two participants are within two years of age of each other, even if one is below the legal limit. For some states it’s three years. So let’s say you are 19 in a state where the age of consent is 18 and the close in age exemption is three years. As a 19 year old you could legally fuck a 16 year old.

Let’s take Virginia where I lost my cherry. The legal age of consent there is 18. And Virginia has a two year close in age exemption. The first girl I fucked was 13 and I was 15 so the two year close in age exemption may have had my ass covered. I really don’t know what the law is if both partners are under the legal age of consent. But in Virginia if I was 19 and fucked anybody younger than 17, my ass would have been grass. If caught. 

I did look it up and if both partners are under the age of consent, someone, usually the boy, can be charged with statutory rape. I’m not sure this is a hard and fast rule however. It appears that the close in age exemption may apply in some states even if both parties are under the age of consent. 

Later I hooked up with a steady high school girlfriend. When we first started fucking I was 16 and she was 14 so the same conditions were in effect as compared to the 13 year old I was banging. Some states, Texas in particular, allow sex between two teens both under the legal age of consent as long as neither is under 14 and no more than three years apart. 

So under those rules, as a 16 year old fucking a 14 year old, I would have been ok. I would have been ok even if I was 17 fucking a 14 year old. However, fucking a 13 year old would have been illegal. 

If the two teens are married, however, they are exempt from any age of consent laws. Some states allow marriage at ages as low as 11.
