So you can't whisper or mention either? You can't type anything in the input text box? Or you can type and hit enter and it doesn't show up? Need more information if you can provide it. Try changing your browser and see if that helps. Alternatively clearing the browser cache might help as well. Is this from a phone or PC? I've had something like that happen to me in the past as well but I don't remember what cleared it.

I’m also having this issue—have had for several weeks. Can’t main chat, can’t whisper, can’t do anything. I’ve tried multiple browsers and nothing works. Any tips?

I'm using Chrome and not having issues but it's on the PC. Is this on a phone or a PC? Make sure that your popup blockers or antimalware apps are turned off for the site, at least to test.
