Nudity at Home

I’m interested in hearing how different the home experience was for different people growing up. In general.... what was nudity like in your house growing up? Some families are strictly against any nudity in their homes. Others live in households where nudity was second nature. Walking to the kitchen for a snack after a shower at night rarely involved any clothing. For just one example

For me, there was nothing taboo about being naked in my house growing up. That goes for me, my siblings, mom and dad.

Grew up with a single mom and two younger brothers, and all three of us shared a room. Nudity between us was fairly common, I mean, we did live in pretty close quarters; I guess around our mom it wasn’t weird, but it also wasn’t typical, although we were always pretty open about just being around the house in our underwear. I suppose that mentality sort of played out in that I enjoy nude hiking/camping, my friends and I often (when we were a bit younger at least and had more time lol) taking trips and even going to a nudist colony a few times. My roommate (a woman) and I are also pretty lax about nudity or being in our underwear around each other.

I was an only child, and though we did not walk around the house nude (South Florida, so mild-to-warm weather all the time), we also were not shy about being seen nude by the two others. Even at a young age I think I enjoyed showing off my nude body to neighbor kids (summers were were always near-nude anyway). Then, 10 years ago, I because interested in social nudism. My wife not interested, so I tried it on the down-low, visiting nudist resorts here in California and in my native Florida when I visited. I love social nudism. I joined TrueNudists, the nudist discussion group for a year, and I had some pretty interesting discussions with parents who raised their kids nudist. The kids have a very healthy attitude about the body and about masturbation. I love being naked outdoors, swimming and hiking naked. For me, social nudism is sensual, not sexual.

Nudity wasn't a big deal in my family. We weren't nudists, but around the house, it was no big deal. Maybe part of it was that my bedroom was directly across the hall from the bathroom, and our family didn't close doors all that much so I would be in my room and talking to people as they used the bathroom, and that's a room where people are frequently naked or in various states of undress. I took baths with my sister for years. When our next door neighbor (a girl) stayed with us when her parents traveled, I'd bathe with her too.

I saw my family members before and after baths, as they sat on the toilet or as my dad stood to pee. My mom's breasts were the first I saw. She was the first nude woman I saw. Same thing with my dad. It wasn't unusual. In fact, I remember the same looseness at my friends' houses too. One buddy had 3 older brothers and I saw all of them and their dad nude at one time or another. I was nude in front of his mom before and it was no big deal. Maybe it was just a different time. I changed in front of or with my buddies; we went to the bathroom together and had sword fights with our pee streams. We showered together. That's just what you did.

I grew up without parents, in the family of my father's parents. Probably due to the big age difference and great love for me from my grandparents, I was allowed almost everything I like. And I liked to be free without clothes. My actions were condemned, but not so much that it turned into violence. So being naked among relatives and then friends was no problem for me. I just got tacit approval for it. I guess I was lucky.
