How to ask a member here to be a friend?

Am new here and probably don't understand something. When I tap 'add a friend' nothing happens. How do I ask an existing member to be my friend? Thank you.

Go to the member's profile on the main site and click "Ask to be a friend".

The first thing you can do is find topics or posts that interest you and go share your thoughts or read stories shared by others. Interact below the post. Be active in the forums regularly and gradually you will make friends who share your interests. For example, I like dolls and I got one from bestrealdoll.com, I am often active in dolls' forums, and I have met a lot of friends who are doll lovers, we will often share interesting things about dolls together.

Once you have a friend request accepted, please be sure to private message the accepting friend. Too often a person requests to be my friend, I accept and I never hear from them again.
