When replying in the forum, how do I quote a specific reply so that person's post shows in yellow?

Copy the text you want to quote, click Post a Reply then click on the 'Quote' button.
Paste the text in between the Quote code indicators.

There may be a site-wide problem with photos / pictures.

I have found that it is much easier to use Notepad or a similar text editing program to compose stories. This allows you to work on them and save easily before uploading.

Yes it is true that image uploading is a problem in Chat.
Is it a problem in other areas?

Best way that I have found is to work on a story as a .txt file on your computer.
You can revise and come back to it over and over there before you upload it.

This is different, of course if you are using your phone...
