When playing with your cock and balls, is it better to masturbate dry or lubed?
Whether I masturbate dry or lubed is usually a matter of circumstance. I prefer to be lubed, but if I have none I still prefer to stroke my cock.
The first lube I used was vaseline from my family medicine cabinet. It's great but a bit hard to clean up and leaves you smelling like petroleum products.
Crisco is the same: great lube but a pain to clean up and makes a mess of everything.
Early on, I tried all I could find: vaseline, Crisco, hand lotion, olive oil, shaving cream, hair conditioner. Now, so many choices: water-based, silicone (fav), massage creams and oils.
What do you like?

I usually go dry. If time allows then sometimes a good lube like millenium! If I’m edging a bit and the precum is really glowing then I’ll lean over my cock, let some spit fall onto my head, and stroke while the spit and precum mix, works great for me!
I have found that it’s always a better stroking technique, when using a good lube. It keeps me harder longer and I get a much longer stroking effect!

Love this topic! My very first orgasm (around 12 or 13 y/o) was in the bath with soap. I continued that until I figured out how to cum from stroking, dry, in bed (or wherever the urge hit me).
Jump forward to college and I had a nymph of a girlfriend who was down for anything. When I told her I had never cum from a hand job, she took it on as her personal mission. Unfortunately, the only thing I had in my room for lube at the time was shampoo. So she gets that all over my cock and goes to work. It took about a half hour but I finally came from her handy! If you’ve ever used shampoo for lube (outside of the shower or bath) and took more than a few minutes to cum you probably know what I experienced next: the skin around my cock and balls got totally irritated and dried out. Not fun. I was peeling flaking dead skin from my sore cock and balls for days. Fortunately, I’ve noticed over the years that the penis heals remarkably well, possibly due to all the blood flow?
Over the years I’ve tried lotion but found it didn’t stay slick long enough for edging purposes. Next was water-based lube to use with toys and condoms. It’s great initially but in my experience it quickly turns sticky and becomes essentially useless for long jerk off sessions.
Next up, silicone-based lube. By far the best lube for sustained slickness for any jerk sessions and edging. However, at times it feels a little too thick and almost feels like I’m wearing a condom after an hour or more of jerking. So, I’ve added coconut oil and/or baby oil to the mix to increase the slickness once I’ve started with silicone lube. Great results!
Now, I’ve tried both coconut oil and baby oil separately and they are both very slick and feel amazing. However, in my experience, I soon start to feel every little irritant using baby oil or coconut oil. Dried skin, lint, fine hairs, etc., soon start to collect on my fingers and distract me from the ultimate goal. Even when I shower just before using them, any fibers from the towel or washcloth soon collect on my hand and cock.
So, now, I literally have four different bottles of lube in my bedside drawer at all times: Water-based (for use with toys or using condoms); silicone-based (for solo sessions or when needed for sex with my wife); coconut oil and baby oil to use with the silicone-based lube for longer sessions.
Side note: I have found that using coconut oil or baby oil with water-based lube actually backfires and makes things stickier rather than slicker. Has anyone else had this same experience?
Second side note: I prefer to wax the base of my shaft and balls rather than shaving (less ingrown hairs). I’ve found that baby oil with aloe is the perfect balm for post-waxing care and always leads to an amazing cum! Well worth a few minutes of pain to have a smooth shaft and balls and a great orgasm afterwards!
Anyway, I’ve experimented with many substances and combinations and have found the ideal lube(s) for any and all occasions. My wife lovingly kids me about being a lube connoisseur with all my bottles and preferred combinations!
I’m curious to hear what you all have used and experienced over the years and if your experiences are similar to mine. Practice makes perfect (and I love practicing)!
I like using baby oil or mineral oil.
Great read! Super interesting.
