The saunas in some countries of Europe are beautiful and not to be missed if you have a chance.
In Europe there are a lot of community owned swim pools and sauna facilities. I have visited a lot of them and thoroughly enjoy the overall ambience of the beautiful facilities and experience of swimming and using the sauna for an afternoon or evening. Many have restaurants and pubs on site or even in the sauna area. Some have two to ten different saunas with different temperatures and settings. Most are not clothing optional and it is all coed with only towels to cover when moving around and to sit on. In some families come together and they have a very different and healthier attitude about nudity than we have in the US. At one site about 10 years ago I was lying by the sauna area swimming pool with my wife. We had towels covering us and the couple next to us was the same. It was a large pool with perhaps 50 people scattered around or in the water. To my right the 20ish couple was intimately talking and she was facing her partner.
