Being a Masturbator

I think that one of the real defining moments in a person's life is when they eventually come to the point where they really, truely "own" their passion for self-pleasure.  No doubt, we all started out the same regarding masturbation; surprised, fascinated and curious.  Multiple short, daily sessions were probably the norm.  And then gradually, our passion for sexual pleasures began to mature and develop as many (if not most) of us made the transition from brief, furtive jack-offs to a more liesurely, in-depth style.  I began lengthening my masturbation sessions before the term "edging" was in common use.

And then there was this special moment; kind of an enlightenment.  An epiphany.  Definitely a "coming-to-terms" with things, where I realized masturbation was not simply something I "did" but something that (at least partly) defined me.  In a totally honest and healthy way, I realised that "I was a masturbator."  Making love to myself was something incredibly beautiful, something now deeply ingrained in my life.  I realised it was a significant part of who and what I am.  I think that my defining moment occurred as I was watching myself masturbate in front of a full-length mirror.

Anyone fond of browsing the internet for images, stories, blogs or websites regarding masturbation has surely come across (no pun) men who declare their passion for masturbation as an "addiction" and all too often that word seems used in a pejorative sense.  Since the word "addiction" is most commonly used with things like substance abuse, I could never relate to my self-pleasure using that word.

Masturbation is love and love is always beautiful, and so I proudly wear the title of "masturbator."
