Dangerous Liaisons

A client of mine has been undergoing something of an ordeal recently. Her husband had an affair with one of his colleagues and when she found out and confronted him about it he attempted to stop it. The woman he was having the affair with completely lost control and, in a cold-blooded manner that brings the film 'Dangerous Liaisons' to mind, decided to wreak a deadly sort of revenge upon her lover and sent poisonous letters, photographs, drawings and stories to stun, confuse, wound and deceive his wife about their relationship. She wanted to destroy their marriage.

The affair itself comprised of several mutual masturbation sessions and there was no penetrative contact. The husband was not running any risks of pregnancy as it was not his intention to leave his marriage or start a family with someone else. For medical reasons, his wife had been unable to have sex with him for nine months and it was at this point that the affair began.

I have helped my client see his mistress for the destroyed, damaged, lonely and deeply unhappy woman that she is. It has since been revealed that this woman's husband had had many affairs during their marriage and it was his infidelity that forced her to abandon him and their children. They parted 'peacefully and amicably' but it would seem very apparent that she has been in total denial about the extent of the injury done to her and her loss. Now that she finds herself playing the role of the 'other woman' she has found an outlet for all her repressed rage and bitterness.

My client and her husband went through a difficult time sorting out the truth from the lies but, in the end, it proved a cathartic time for both their relationship and for themselves personally. They discovered that their Love was the Truth that nothing could destroy.
