I am in the UK and all I can remember wasn't actual physical discipline but what we used to call 'Old wives tales' such as 'You shouldn't do that, it's dirty' or 'It will make you go blind' or 'Hairs will grow on the palms of your hand' Well if all that was true then I should have looked like an unwashed, blind, werewolf with a white walking stick. I was never told these by my parents but overheard them in other peoples conversation's usually at school. I did feel a little bit guilty when I masturbated but enjoyed it so much I would never have stopped doing it !! Still doing it now in my 70's !!

I've read that Mr Kellogg created corn-flakes as he believed they would stop boys masturbating.

I’ve always lived in the southern U.S., born in the early 1960s, and in my world masturbation was completely ignored, as if it didn’t exist. I think every kid either thought they were the only ones who did it, or else were educated by other kids who didn’t necessarily know what they were talking about. I don’t think this was healthy.

Lot of good that did! Seems to me the techniques may vary slightly for circumcised v. uncircumcised guys, but we both quite happily cum in our hands.

I was born in the US in the mid-60s. Masturbation was mostly ignored. My parents said it was normal to enjoy it but do it privately. Once. Never discussed it again. Grade school sex ed said the same thing: fun, common, harmless. My dad told me once not to waste the hot water and turn off the shower while I (if I wanted to) masturbate in there then rinse off when done. My mother bought me hand lotion now & then to use as lube, never said anything. Just replaced the bottle in my bedroom when it got low, sometimes.
