I've used a variety of personal lubes over the years and found that the ones I liked best were water-based gel types. And then I just developed a preference for Astroglide - regular formula. It's somewhat thin, but I think it provides the perfect amount of lubricity for me. I tried their gel formula and didn't think it was as "slick."

Plus one for coconut oil. Right amount of lubricity and good staying power. I heat a small amount a plastic cup in the microwave and it stays liquid throughout my whole session. I admit it is a little more difficult to clean up, but it works for me
