Is there an issue where the chat randomly freezes without warning? On top of that, many times reloading the page doesn't work, and I have to not only close the tab but also clear the browser cache before it will log back in.

The present software on the site has issues and they are band-aiding it to keep it running. They are working on a replacement (of which I have no details). So we'll see various things cropping up time to time. Hopefully your issue has sorted itself out. I'm experiencing some issues as well with formatting that appears to be due to my id on the site.
