Why are comments cropped?

This is a bug. It is in the fix-it queue. The original devs did not understand that some of our comments were as long as stories. Never fear, this will be resolved.
Update: We've greatly expanded the character limit of comments. Comments in the future should not be cropped (unless they are extremely long).
Unfortunately, older comments that were cropped cannot be salvaged. My apologies!
