Do you feel that watching porn and masturbating has helped your sex life? If so, in what way has it been helpful?

I am addicted to edging, which means, of course, that I am addicted to masturbation, but more specifically to the sustained pleasure of edging for hours rather than hurrying for a quick orgasm. Although it's not the sole reason, I have found the the types and volumes of porn that I have watched have made it harder for me to go over the edge.
